Showing Stocking Tops

Something I have often wondered about is the fact that new users only see the 'Apply' area and have no idea what is in store for them if they join. Would it be better if they could see the areas but not access them yet?

I'm not sure why but something has always held me back from doing it so I thought I'd ask what you think, having been in that position yourself.

I think being able to see the different sections they gain access to may be helpful. Not a Web Wizard so just a thought. If it doesn't put the site in any harm from hackers, why not show the sections, with no access, until accepted to the group.
