Hi guys, just a wee quiery regarding postings. I know that you encourage comments to other peoples postings, and that said comments/postings then contribute to your score for VIP status, but of late, I've noticed a lot of comments, which are to say the least, dodgy if they are counting towards status. Example; A post which had four pictures, one which showed nothing, one was an obvious shadow, and the other two showed the merest glimpse of a stocking top. Now, I applaud shots of candid tops, as we all do, but the next guy who looked commented "Sensational." It was not sensational, it was alright, but I suspect people are using the fact that one word comments constitute a posting! Come on, FFS, use some imagination! Ok, I'm going to go and lie down now, spleen vented!
Regards, Jimmi.

We all have different views on whats "sensational" or "fantastic" or "WOW" Sometimes it is not neccesary to write down the story of your life to explain what you think, sometimes a word is enough. But, on the old forum, there was this guy named "swiss". He commented the word "WOW" an enormous amount of times, and was expelled in the end.
I agree that if you just post "simple" comments to gain VIP then its wrong, but believe me Jimmy.....there is more needed to become a VIP than posting words!
A VIP is a very important poster. That means he is a important poster, not a poster that posts just rubbish.
Some people that has VIP status gained it easily because of their prior membership at the old board, but has obviously not managed to live up to their VIP status.
SimonP has said that after this copyright issue is finished, he will look into this. I hope, that you Jimmi will keep up the good work you do and has done so far, and that you will be rewarded soon!

Hi Jimmi,
What Thoms has said is totally correct, & to be honest I could not have put it better myself, we in admin, as well as looking out for porn, off topic, & now copyright stuff, we all notice what is "going on" & who is posting what & where, so as Thoms has said, enjoy the site & carry on posting & commenting, & even make suggestions, & basically become part of the site, and VIP will be yours sooner than you think Cool

Also, remember that we are going through the entire board weeding out all the "marked" pictures so you may only see 2-3 pictures in a post now, whereas when the post was made there were more, maybe better, but copyrighted, pictures.

What I have noticed in going through first home and outside and recently (for copyright issues) through gold archives is that there are a lot of VIPs from the old board who have been given VIP status on the new, but have made very little (sometimes no) contribution to the new board. Similarly there are probably hundreds of gold posters who have made one contribution to get gold (sometimes 2 - 3 when they didn't get it right first time) then - nothing! It is good to see that this is going to be addressed. Smile

A good point ff, it is one of the first things that will be looked at when we are "clear & clean" with the copyright issue, we have already had a few conversations on this subject, & it has been noted how helpful (or not) certain high ranking members have been, so I can safely say that we will have some changes in the not to distant future

Its worth remembering that this whole place revolves around members input, for those not taking part, in whatever way, will have their status adjusted either way to suit their commitment to the site

VIP status - takes more than just comments on posts, and more than just posting a few pix of stockingtops. I like to think it is basically a look at their entire body of work. For example, siges doesn't post very often. However, ALL of his contributions are original shots, and most of them are high resolution. That is why he is VIP.

Gold status - Gold members need to earn their keep. Some original posts with stockingtops, as well as encouraging comments to other posts does two things. It shows that they want to be an active part of the forum as opposed to being a lurker in the background, and it also builds their reputation toward VIP status.

Just because a member hits XX numbers of posts, doesn't mean they get VIP.

VIPs should lead by example, it should never be a numbers game, that is why we altered the requirement from 50+ posts
but going back to the original comment, we do have a big number of members that have never contributed or revisited after being awarded gold status, these need removing,
Also a good proportion of VIPs were upgraded purely because they held that status within the old board, I could real of at least 10 gold members that are VIP material, likewise I could name at least 20-25 VIPs that I feel do not contribute to VIP standard

I would have to agree that there are a number of gold posters that have not posted anything since gaining that status. There definitely has to be new procedures put in place to gain these "privileges".

The criteria for VIP should be what the poster is contributing to the board. Be it in pics, comments, helping other users, etc. I am in complete agreement that VIP should be a level that is earned. I can be certain that there are users posting to attain VIP status and that is what they are trying to gain from joining the site. When I first joined the site, I was posting "2 of 50 for VIP" just because I wasn't very creative Confused But once I got into the site a little more I realized that this site can actually be a place to have fun, chat and enjoy pics.

As Thomas has said, what one person thinks is sensational another person might think is fair. Posting comments does show that you are appreciative of the poster sharing those pics with us.

It is obvious who is the core of this site. I think this core should have a VIP status. VIP stands for very important POSTER.... not person, so if a former oldboard VIP is a VIP now just because he was VIP in the oldboard and he doesnt ctrb in a decent way I think that its wrong. VIP should be a privilege that one needs to earn and keep on earning by posting regulary, that be pics or comments or modding or other usefull stuff.
We should keep our eyes open for goldmembers like helensurrey, buddyfox and others who really try to post good stuff for us and try to incourage them to keep up the good work they do. I look for regularity, material and the quality of this, the comments (if they are just WOW or OHH....) and if they infact are usefull to this board.
It is more difficult now, due to the copyrightissue, to post material so I believe we will see less posting in time ahead, so it might not be wise to have a 50 post min limit to become a VIP? Quality and regularity, not quantity might be an idea?

I have to agree with Jimmi in as much as some of the comments seem to be a bit exagerated one word posts. However by the same token if one does not agree with a previous assesment of a picture/s they can also make a comment stating their opinion. Saying this I must also commend and thank the moderaters here for an excellent on going cleanup of some unsuitable pictures that have appeared here.

I agree with your statement relating to previous "old board" VIPs. If they want their status back they should also post all the pictures they had posted on the "old board" as a condition to get their VIP status reinstated or at least within a certain time period like 10 days. If they do not do that then they should revert to Gold membership and pay their dues for VIP just like the rest of us.
