i recently found this forum and though it looked just what i was looking for a forum where members are encouraged to participate i applied and was very gratefull to be accepted i tried to participate by posting and contributing i was polite with any replies to other postings

so here is my question why do some moderators and admins go out their way to be rude sometimes if people have posted some pics that are on this site previously then we can only apologise but new members are joining every day so with approximately 300 pages of pictures on the back catalogue it is impossible to look back over them all and im sure that some members here dont know all the stocking sites on the net i know i dont so if i post ones that belong to someone else who is a member here then again i am sorry but all pics i post are found on open forums where they can be shared

i am sorry i have tried to be a good contributer hoping to reach the heights one day of vip but to post and post and to have the rude comments that people feel necessary to leave then i feel sad and upset that the forum that promises so much seems to be run only for the lucky few

First of all Im sorry that you think we are rude. This site is monitored closely by us mods and admins on a free basis. We do not get paid one dime for doing this, and I can assure u its a BIG job handling all this.

When members dont follow the rules, we have a duty to let them know. However, reposts are not a violation of any rules, but a "problem" we need to keep at a minimum.
We cant fill this forum with 100 copies of different pics.
We usually just comment: Seen before, RP, repost, or simmilar. Please dont take it the wrong way.
Keep up the posting and browse through the forum when u have a spear time.

Just to add to what Thoms has already clearly stated, we are not trying to be rude or sarcastic. If we come off that way, we do apologize.

When we let a member know that they have reposted when applying for Gold, it is only because they have blatantly taken the pics from previous Gold applications. This process helps us determine who is worthy of Gold and who isn't. You are correct when you say that it is impossible to know who posted what pics. There is absolutely no way for anyone to know that.

We just don't want someone going to the free area, lifting some pics and posting them as if they did all the leg work. This shows us that they have no intention on contributing to the site and are looking for a "free ride".

In the future, if you feel a mod/admin is being rude or if you an issue with one of them, don't hesitate to drop one of us a PM so we can resolve it.

I hope you didn't take my recent comments to your "big mix" wedding post as being rude. Here are the elements of my reply (in bold). Were you taken aback by any of them?

#1 Please, PLEASE keep your posts to a maximum of 25 pictures per entry, as per the rules of the SST forum. I'll begin checking these over when I get time later today.
We have to check each picture individually, and more than 25 at a time is very time-consuming for us. If you have more than that, simply make multiple posts, even within the same thread. That would be fine.

#2 OK, nice pics, nice collection. Lots of reposts, although the first ten are new (but would it hurt you to rotate them to right side up? Or am I being too picky?), as are the motorcycling bride and groom.
Yes, I made a comment about reposts, but I also said "nice" (twice). As far as picture orientation, 99.99% of everybody else's contributions are right side up. Didn't think it out of order to suggest that yours be properly rotated too.

#3 I have no problem with reposts in general, because you can't be expected to go back through the entire subforum to check, and many of these are fun to enjoy again--and they're probably new to somebody.
I acknowledged the fact that a complete review is difficult for you, and thus tried to soften my "reposts" comment so you wouldn't be upset.

#4 HOWEVER, we went to some trouble to point everyone to the most-reposted sets--some of the best bride pics on the internet, we think. I would appreciate it if everyone checked out the very first thread in the Weddings subforum:
Suggestion to help your enjoyment and save you some time.

#5 We hope you'll take time to check out these and other favorites in that thread. Then you won't have to post them again and again.

With regard the the repeat post etc, I agree with you, Quite often I see someone has said "Seen before, RP, repost" I dont think this is said with any malice, but some times words & phrases do get "lost in translation" and I'm sure what is meant is something more like " seen before (by me)"!

It is fair to say that posts & pictures that do carry the "Seen before, RP, repost" tag are new to some members on the site,

Thank you for being honest, I will bring this up in the Admin section & try to make sure we do not offend or upset anyone, the last thing we want is for you to stop posting

ok hands up first of all yes i did post one hard pic it was a mistake on my part and i accept full responsibility for it i did not check my post carefully enough

i have replied to lambo on this also i do know you all give youre time free and it is appreciated by all who do participate as the last thing anyone wants is for this site to be closed down due to some idiot posting the wrong type of pic ( me in this case)

but my question was more about the replys we recieve are recieved sometimes they seem just along the lines of

"weve been their done that" situation and sometimes for new memebers that comes across as being bit rude as i havent posted one single photo from this site and tried to pass it of as my own as i try and share new ones i find elsewhere on the net

i am sorry if i post any photos that are the property of other members and i give full credit here and now to all people both male and female lucky enough to pose or photograph stocking tops and if i have inadvertently passed of in any of my posts then my sincerest apologises

ps if any one still talking to me what do you have to do to get vip around here of course dont wind up the mods would be a good start but blew that already haha

please keep up youre good work and i will try and follow all rules in future and watch for repeats if possible but both my eyesight and memory is fading with age

Regarding VIP - keep posting at the rate you are going, keep them clean, offer encouragement to other members and VIP will come. Basically, when you start to stand out in the eyes of the mods, you will become VIP. It's all about participation and contributing to the forum. Smile
